| Notes |
- Calvin Gillett made his last will and testament on March 10, 1858. In it, he named his son, Curtis C. Gillett, his oldest daughter, Elisa C. Cutler, and his youngest daughter, Betsey R. Holcomb. No mention was made of his wife. He named his friend, Edwin P. Stevens as his executor.
The witnesses to the Will were Edwin P. Stevens, Henry Taylor and William Cannon, Jr.
David Hastings and Chauncey J. Stratton, freeholders, were appointed to appraise his estate following his death which occurred 12 Mar 1858.
Claims were made against the estate by William Cannon, Jr., Doctor MT Norton, JRM Rose, Orrin P. Allen, Betsey R. Holcomb, Elihu B. Spear and Edwin P. Stevens.
In the distribution of the estate, his youngest daughter was named as Betsey R. Spear, she having married Elihu Spear six days after her father's death.

Know Ye, That I Calvin Gillett of Suffield Hartford County and State of Connecticut
for the consideration of Three Hundred dollars -
received to my full satisfaction of Calvin Gillett, Jr. of sd Town.
Do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Calvin Jr. a certain lot of land lying in Sd Suffield and bounded as follows vis. East on Highway, South on Sherman Johnson, West on Julius Stratton and North on land now or formerly owned by Simeon Spencer, containing fifty acres more or less, with the buildings there on ~
